Getting there
To get to Positano take the
A 1Autostrade South to the Naples exit. Keep going
toward Naples, but do not enter Naples...follow the
signs that say Costiera Amalfitana and/or Peninsula
Sorrentina...there are several such signs. Take the
Autostrade A3 toward Salerno, there is an autostrada
fee of 1 Euro. Keep on that road...be careful,
they have been working on it and it is narrow and
at a few points almost downright dangerous.
The exit for Positano is Castellammare di Stabia. If you miss that you have just added 30 KM and an hour or more to your trip. The heads up is an Esso service station on the right, less than 1 KM to the Castellammare exit which is just after the exit for Pompeii. From this point you will be on the Italian State Road SS 163. Keep following signs for Sorrento and Positano.
